I always try to encourage more people to go outside of suburbia, or the city and go look up into the night sky. I have never became so infatuated with a type of photography before in my life. I started to shoot astrophotography 4 years ago whenever i was getting more involved with landscapes. I gave it a few attempts and waited anxiously for milky way season to return the following year. Scouting light pollution maps, rise/set times of the milky way and planning around moon phases i began to study more than camera settings to get to those darker skies. The east coast is a bit rougher than out west as far as light pollution goes so whenever i travel i like to get into some late night to early morning conditions.
